“Captain America” Holds Auditions : Chace Crawford, John Krasinski Screentest
Over-inflated actor ego alert — even established actors have to screen test, sometimes.
Marvel comics and Joe Johnson are getting down to the wire with whom they’ll soon be selecting to play the real man version of the fabled comic character Captain America. Chace Crawford, John Krasinski, Mike Vogel, and Michael Cassidy are a few of the contenders that are up for the gig.
Amazing, though — even the 17 Again Star has the screentest, his pore-less face glorified by a handicam and audition room, just like the rest of the Regular Acting World. Granted, he’ll likely be served a cool cup of Perrier and a facial before he goes in before the producers, but still. It’s fun to hear that a film could be so huge that even large names are subjected to an actual audition process.
Captain America will be produced by Paramount and Marvel Enterprises. Jack Kirby, Stephen McFeely, JoeSimon, and Kevin Feige are the credited writers on the screenplay. CAA-repped Joe Johnson will direct, following his recent gig on The Wolfman.
